During a particularly tough night with her daughter at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, Mum Mandy saw the Juiced TV Super Hero Awards banner in the lift at the hospital and instantly knew who to nominate.
Mandy is extremely grateful for all the support and comfort her and her six-year-old daughter Sophia have received form Nurse Kylie, who is the recipient of Juiced TV’s Fourth Super Hero Award, proudly supported by QSuper.
The awards program, now in its fourth round, provides the chance for children and their families to recognise Queensland Children’s Hospital medical and support staff who selflessly dedicate themselves to the wellbeing of others.

Mandy describes why she nominated Kylie, saying, “I just felt comfortable with you on my team, because it’s not just about supporting the kids, which is the main bit, it’s about supporting us. And I think for me, that’s where you shone above and beyond,”.
Kylie became a nurse after having careers as a paramedic and as a flight attendant. She very humbly received her Super Hero Award and praised Mandy and Sophia as being her superheroes.
“You are the superhero, like I told you that morning,” she tells Mandy.
“You are incredible. Every minute of every day, you are. You are doing it tough, and I’m just going to do whatever I can to make it that bit easier for you. You deserve that, you really do, and so does Sophia”.
What Kylie loves about nursing the most is, “Being able to interact with not only the kids, but also their families, giving them what they need and supporting them through their journey”.
QSuper’s partnership and support allows Juiced TV to increase the positive impact the program has for kids and their families at the hospital, and also throughout regional hospitals across Queensland with the ‘Juiced Box’ mobile application.
Congratulations again Kylie! If you have a Super Hero at the hospital, help us to give them the recognition they deserve by nominating them for Juiced TV’s Super Hero Awards.
