Wheels to Heels! Meet Tim, Our Super Hero Winner!

Since the age of two, Mackenziee has been coming to the Queensland Children’s Hospital regularly as she was born with cerebral palsy. Mackenziee has shown determination throughout her hospital journey achieving much along the way, “I have such a supportive team that who has helped me throughout all my challenges I’ve faced over the years”, Mackenziee tells Juiced TV.

Mackenziee’s dream is to walk in heels at her high school formal later in the year. Helping her achieve her dream is senior physiotherapist Tim, who is the sixth winner of Juiced TV’s Super Hero award, proudly supported by QSuper. Throughout the years she has formed a close bond with Tim and describes him as a “legend who’s helped me through so much, through thick and thin and is always so so supportive”.

Even though Physio Tim describes, “It’s been a tough six months and there’s certainly been surgical pain and weakness after surgery we’ve had to work through together”, Mackenziee won’t give up! Mackenziee even created personalised t-shirts for her whole team as a physical reminder of the goal set before her. Her family have also been a massive support to her along the way, “big thanks to my bro’s and my big sister for helping me on this journey”. Click the link below to watch their beautiful story.

Tim, being the Super Hero he is, will also be walking in high heels for the first time to show his support. Tim requires a bit of training before he takes to his heels, but he’s up for the challenge!

QSuper’s partnership and support allows Juiced TV to increase the positive impact the program has for kids and their families at the hospital, and also throughout regional hospitals across Queensland with the ‘Juiced Box’ mobile application.

Tim is one of many Super Heroes helping patients achieve their dreams. If you have a Super Hero at the hospital, help us to give them the recognition they deserve by nominating them for Juiced TV’s Super Hero Awards.
