The first annual ‘Paddle for Kids’ fundraising regatta was held on Saturday June 17 at South Bank Parklands, and it was a huge success! 14 Dragon Boat teams made up of community supporters, local businesses and hospital staff took to the water with huge amounts of team spirit for the regatta, while families were entertained in the Cultural Forecourt with a great line up of entertainers and activities.
The event raised over $52,000 to support Juiced TV and the Children’s Hospital Foundation, and will make an incredible impact in allowing us to create and capture even more positive memories and amazing experiences for sick kids and their families!
A big shout out to Dragon Boat Queensland and their supporting clubs who helped the day run so smoothly, and of course to the spirited teams who put on a great show and raised a terrific amount of money – BMD Group, CHQ Daring Dragon Docs, Cookies Monsters, Dragon Behind, ECP Constructions, ERM Power Paddlers, Hull of a Laugh, Kezza’s Kanoo, Suncorp Teams 1 and 2, Mater Hospital, Super Nurses, Team Falkor, Team Teal, QUT Cliffhangers, and Windoware.
